Nurse Alarm LLC ("Company," "we," or "us") respects your privacy. AnyPath™ (the "App") is designed with a privacy-first architecture: the App does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. It has no user accounts, no advertising, and no tracking. By default, the App makes no network connections and sends nothing off your device. Everything the App does happens locally, and every action is initiated by you - by pressing a keyboard shortcut. There is no background monitoring of your keyboard, your clipboard, or your screen content.
By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction).
When - and only when - you press an AnyPath™ shortcut, the App reads information about the window currently in focus to determine the file path, folder path, or web address of the item you are viewing, and places that text on your clipboard. Depending on the application in focus, this may involve reading a window title, an accessibility value (UI Automation on Windows; the Accessibility and Automation frameworks on macOS), or an application's own automation interface. This information is used transiently, in memory, on your device, solely to produce the text you asked to copy. It is never stored by the App and never transmitted anywhere.
Clipboard: The App writes your copied path or link to the system clipboard. It does not read, monitor, or log your existing clipboard contents.
Cloud links: When you copy a OneDrive or SharePoint link, the App computes the link locally from the sync configuration that your own cloud client has already stored on your device. The App does not contact Microsoft and does not access your cloud account. A future macOS version may support iCloud links using the same local-only approach.
Settings: Your preferences (such as your chosen shortcuts) are stored only on your device - in the Windows Registry on Windows, and in standard application preferences on macOS. A small local counter of successful copies may be kept on your device to decide when to show a one-time "rate this app" prompt; it never leaves your device.
Permissions: On Windows, the App is a standard desktop application installed from the Microsoft Store. On macOS, the App requests the Accessibility and Automation permissions, which are used solely for the purpose described above; you can revoke them at any time in System Settings.
The App contains no analytics and no advertising, and it sends no telemetry by default. We do not track your activity, files, identity, or location, and we do not build any profile of you. By default, nothing you do in the App is ever sent to us or to anyone else; the only exceptions are the optional, user-controlled features described in Sections 4 through 6.
Send Feedback: If you use the App's Send Feedback option, it opens a pre-addressed email in your own email program. To help us diagnose issues, the draft may include your App version, your operating-system version, and a technical diagnostic summary that you can review, edit, or delete before sending. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send the email, and anything you send is used solely to respond to and act on your feedback.
Optional failure diagnostics (off by default): The App may offer a Diagnostics setting that, if you turn it on, automatically sends us a technical report when a copy or drag operation fails, so we can find and fix compatibility problems quickly. This setting is strictly opt-in and off by default; when it is off, the App sends nothing. A report is limited to non-identifying technical details drawn from a fixed list of fields - the name of the application in focus, the type of error or error code, the feature that failed, and App and operating-system versions. Reports are built only from these structured fields and contain no free-form text, so they never include your files, file contents, file names, or file paths, and no personal identifiers (such as your name, username, or device name) are sent. Reports are transmitted securely, may be processed by a reputable error-reporting service acting on our behalf, are used solely to diagnose and fix defects, and are retained only as long as needed for that purpose. You can turn the setting off at any time in the App's settings.
Platform diagnostics: Independent of the App, your operating system may collect crash and reliability data according to your own OS privacy settings (for example, Windows error reporting or Apple's analytics sharing). When platforms share such data with developers, we receive only aggregate, de-identified reports.
Windows: The App is distributed through the Microsoft Store. Purchases, subscriptions, trials, and refunds are handled by Microsoft under Microsoft's terms and privacy policy - we never see your payment details. We may receive aggregate, non-identifying install and sales statistics that the store provides to all developers.
macOS: If the macOS App is sold directly (outside an app store), payment is processed by a reputable third-party payment provider under its own privacy policy; in that case we may receive your email address and order details solely to deliver and validate your license - never your card number. If the macOS App is instead offered through the Apple App Store, Apple handles the purchase under Apple's terms.
On Windows, updates are delivered by the Microsoft Store. A directly-distributed macOS version may periodically check our update server for a newer version; such a check sends only basic technical information (such as App version and macOS version) and no personal data.
Because the App stores nothing off your device and collects no personal data by default, there is no AnyPath™-held database of your information to breach. Your settings live on your own device, and you are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your device. We are not responsible for loss or exposure of data due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to operating-system updates, device failures, system outages, or third-party service disruptions.
The App is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
You can revoke the App's permissions (in macOS System Settings), disable any optional feature, or uninstall the App at any time. Because we hold no personal data about you by default, there is typically nothing for us to access, correct, or delete; if you have emailed us feedback, you may ask us to delete that correspondence by contacting us.
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted at https://anypath.nursealarm.app/privacy with its "Last Updated" date, and material changes will be reflected there before they take effect. Questions about this policy can be sent to anypath@nursealarm.app.
